Harischandra Yojana 2024
The Harischandra Sahayata Yojana has been introduced by the Government of Odisha. Under this scheme, the impoverished can receive financial aid of Rs 2000 in rural areas and Rs 3000 in urban areas for the purpose of conducting cremations of the deceased. To apply for this scheme, the Government of Odisha has launched an online application software.
Under the initiative, a budget of 14 crores has been allotted from the Chief Minister’s relief fund; of this amount, 10 crores will be withdrawn directly from the fund, and the remaining 4 crores will come through collectors. The scheme was first introduced in 16 districts.
